Really Rad Robots comes from the YakBot family and it is a cute little spherical toy that is for children, both young and old alike. These Really Rad Robots come with several functions that are designed to entertain your kids for hours.
This particular little robot that you see here runs off of two AAA batteries. The battery bay is located at the back behind a small door, which is held in place with screw.
At the front of the Rad Robot there are two eyes, a nose and a mouth which is pretty much the head of a robot. There is also a microphone in the front where the mouth is supposed to be. The microphone records your voice. On either side of the head there are buttons which are responsible for recording your voice as well playing back your voice respectively.
Located at the top of the robot head there is a dial which is designed to warp the voice playback. During playback you can turn his dial to warp your voice and hear your voice with varying pitches. Now let’s take a look at some other functions.
The first function is recording your voice. To do that you simply press the button on the left hand side of the head, wait for the prompt and then you can record your voice. The button on the right hand side of the head is used to play back your voice. The dial on the top of the head is used to warp your voice playback.
Other functions include set of voice filters that can change the way your voice sounds. Some voice filter examples include a robot voice and voice echo mode.
Now there’s also another function called “Answer Man” which I find to be very interesting indeed. In answer man mode you pretty much ask your little YakBot any question and it gives you an answer, after pausing for a couple of seconds while it thinks of some “wise” response. You may not get a smart answer but it gives you an answer nonetheless which is quite entertaining.
My favourite mode is something called the “Time Blast Prank” which pretty much turns your little a robot head into a grenade that simulates an explosion with cool sound effects, so don’t panic. To enable the time blast prank mode you simply hold down both of the buttons located on either side of the Rad Robot for a couple of seconds. You will then hear a countdown, which is about 10 seconds, after which you will hear the sound of an explosion. This is a cool prank to play on your friends. Roll it along the ground toward your friends while it does the count down and watch them scatter as the sound effects of an exploding grenade come from your little spherical friend.
The Really Rad Robot come in various colours other than red. There is also a white version and a blue version and these make excellent gifts for birthdays and as Stocking Stuffers during the Christmas season.
