Some of the Best Android Games Of The Week

Star Warfare 2 Android Game

Dead Target

Dead Target is one of those first person shooter zombie Android games where in this case you are stay put in one position and the zombies come to you.  There are hundreds and hundreds of zombies of all types, colors and sizes that approach you and only you with the intent of taking you down for lunch, and your job is to simply stay alive. Your job is quite simple – Kill zombies by any means necessary.

There are zombies of all types: some slow, some fast, some big, some small, some tall, some short, all types, and all colors. There are also a couple of annoying zombie characters as well which you will start seeing more often as you progress through the game.  It’s a really addictive game seeing that zombies literally come from all corners and they can easily surprise you and kill you if you’re not fast enough.

You have a full arsenal of weapons, including a flame thrower, as well as grenades at your disposal and you can get access to more weapons as you earn power ups.  You can also make in app purchases to get more weapons and upgrades as well.

During game play there is a testosterone pumped man voice in the background that congratulates you for great kills and making impressive head shots when you blow off a zombie’s head from 50 yards.  Anyone familiar with that famous old school first person shooter of the nineties would think that it was the voice of Duke Nukem.

It is one of those truly addictive Android games and it is strongly recommend that you get it from the Google Play Store if you have time to kill – in addition to zombies of course!

There’s also an opportunity to collect bonus items and upgrades when you get to play a mini casino game in between levels at times, where you spin the wheel, and depending on what you choose you get to win various bonuses and upgrades. By the way, it is one of those games where in-app purchases exist, so if you need to get upgrades quickly then you can easily buy them between levels.

Dead Target requires Android version 2.3 up and it has content rating of “Mature 17+” since there are scenes of “intense violence and blood”.  This is a one of those highly recommended Android games that you can play when you are stuck on that New York subway for 2 hours while commuting home from work.

Star Warfare 2

If you are looking for a gorgeous looking third person shooter Android game then I recommend that you take a look at Star Warfare 2.  It is a futuristic FPS game where you can play in various modes as you shoot and kill all kinds of aliens and bug like foes.

Android Games - Star Warfare 2

There is a single player campaign mode where you follow a story line and traverse via the various stages where you have to end up taking down huge bosses at the end of every stage.  There is also a Boss Fight mode where you can get right into battle with the huge bosses from the get go.  You can play either while online or offline.

There is even a co-op standoff mode where you can team up with other players online in teams and go at it against other teams.  What is a first person shooter game without a head to head mode where you can battle against someone else online in a realistic 3D environment in a one-to-one combat to the death?

What I love about this game is that you can easily switch sides and play one of the epic colossus bosses and take down your buddies in combat.

You have access to an arsenal of weapons of destruction as well as armor and also vehicles.  Star Warfare 2 requires Android 2.3 or higher and has a content rating of “Teen, Violence and Blood” and there are in-app purchase options as well.

There are so many ways that you can play this Android game as it is designed to give you hours of digital entertainment.

Shadow Blade

Shadow blade is one of those side and vertical scrolling action platform Android games where you play the young warrior named Kuro who is on a mission to become the ultimate Shadow Blade.  His goal is to find the Ninja Master so that he can complete his training.  Apparently this is the last surviving Ninja Master so finding him is vital.

As you progress through the game there are lots of enemies that he has to fight as well as traps that you must avoid.  Anyone familiar with old classics like The Prince Of Persia would recognize a similar play experience where you have to work your way through various stages fighting villains and evading deadly traps.  Shadow Blade is a fast paced game where the sprites have fluid movement and the controls, when playing the game via virtual controls on the screen are very responsive.

For you MOGA gamepad owners out there we have some good news – Shadow Blade is compatible with the Android game pad as well.

If you have a tight budget there is also a free version that you can download with the option of purchasing the full version later on when you get your next paycheck.

Shadow Blade is compatible with Android versions 2.3.3 and up and its content rating is “Teen, Violence and Blood”

Paper Monsters

Paper Monsters is one of those Android games that anyone can play.  It is suitable for children, both young and old – and by old I mean adults who love platform games with great graphics and game play.  In addition to the rich graphics and fluid animation on screen there is also a well put together soundtrack that make game play very entertaining indeed.

Android Games - Paper Monsters

It is a two dimensional side scrolling adventure game where the environments are in 3D.  As an example there are some stages where you can move your character in the foreground and then there are times when your little paper character with the cute “boxed” head is in the far background, running through stages.

The entire world is far from being made out of the common elements of that we know today in our environment for Paper Monsters is set in a virtual environment strictly made up of cardboard and paper and you even see some tumbleweeds that are made out of cotton (or some type of cotton candy).

There are even stages that are underwater as well in this Mario Brothers type game which has a total of six different worlds and a total of twenty eight levels to complete.

Just like the classics like Mario Brothers, Paper Monsters also has tons of hidden areas and worlds.  This is truly an Android game that is suited for pretty much anyone.

Paper Monsters works on the Android platforms with versions 2.2 and up.
